์—ฌ๋Ÿฌ๋ถ„ ์•ˆ๋…•~ There is many of you that want to travel to Korea, also I have been getting messages from some of you asking for information, so today’s article is about eplanning a trip to Korea, what to see etc. to plan your trip.

Starting from the tickets, I personaly use the skyscanner app, it is comparing a variety of prices and gives the best possible. I have used other applications too, but this one works the best for me. You can either download it on your phone or use your pc/laptop. They also have a calendar and you can check which dates are cheaper to travel. I think cheaper time to travel to Korea is October-November and it is also a nice time since it is not hot not cold and you can enjoy the view of the trees with colorful leaves.

Also, since you will be changing plane, since a direct flight is not an option to some countries (countries that have direct flights are so lucky) It would be good to add something on your luggage to distinguish it from others because accidents do happen somemes, and also a good tip is to take a picture of your luggage. For example, what happened to me on my very first trip to Korea (and first in general) is that my luggage hadn’t arrived yet, and the person asked me to describe it. Luckily I had a photo of it so it made it easier for everyone. Imagine If i said it is a black suitcase. There are so many black ones so… About the aircompanies I suggest by order I would say Qatar Etihad Lufthansa Turkish airlines and last Alitalia (I had bad experience with that one)

When the ticket issue is done,  its time for the accomodation. We have the classic choice of hotels. In Seoul hotel prices are around 100-150 euros per night. Next choice is airbnb it is way more cheaper than a hotel, and last but not least we have the guest houses. It is an also cheap choice, they also organize some events and tours for the guests, however you have to share the room and bathroom so I think it is ideal for a group of friends. As for the location, Seoul is such a big city so some things will be close by while other will be far. Best location that connects with everything is Yeouido, however, hotels there are at least 130 euros per night, since Yeouido is often called The Manhattan of Korea, it is the location of the Korean stock exchange, Financial institutes, Korea’s major broadcasters, media companies and ad agencies as well as the national assembly.

Now, if someone is more interested in the palaces, traditional buildings and Namsan tower they could stay in Dongdaemun or Jonglo area, while people that are more interested in shopping can stay in Gangnam area.

Now, about places you should visit in Korea, regarding palaces I suggest gyeongbokgung which is the main palace, and if you visit in spring-summer It would be nice to visit the secret garden in Changdeok palace.

Also, if you like traditional buildings there is Bukchon Hanok village in Seoul, it is an area with traditional buildings where people live, so you should be quiet while you are there. People wear the traditional costume( hanbok) and walk around there, it is really nice for photos and a walk.( wear comfy shoes as there are so many hills there)

While in Korea, in some locations you will be able to spot the tower on Nam mountain. Namsan tower, in other words. It is a good idea to visit when the sun is setting, as it has a really nice view. Inside the namsan tower you can find shops, restaurants, cafes and go up with the elevator to enjoy the view. Going to Namsan tower can be done either by bus or cable car (cable car usualy has a line and you will have to wait for some time)

What is interesting about Namsan tower is that the illuminations indicate the level of air pollution, so Blue means clear while green means fair. Yellow one means bad while Red one is extremely bad and people should wear a mask and refrain from any outdoor activities.

And since we talk about towers, another tower you should visit is, the Lotte world tower. I think at the moment it is Korea’s tallest building. There are shopping malls inside, cafes, restaurants, aquarium, and of course you can go to the 117th-123th floor to enjoy the city view and have some snacks or beverages at the cafes. On the 123th floor there is a premium lounge bar.

An other building with nice view and shopping malls is the building 63. It is very popular and near it there is a park with Han river view.

Insadong is also a famous place to visit, with many restaurants and cafes, people that wear Hanbok and many young people, as well as Hongdae that has the same vibe and is very lively at night with nice restaurants.

If you like clubbing, you can go to Itaewon, while Gangnam is nice for shopping and has nice streets to walk to. For cheap shopping now, you can take the metro line 9 and get out at express bus terminal. It is an undergound market that goes on for miles and things are in good prices there.

Lastly about food, an average price for a simple meal (for example bibimbap) is around 8 euros, while, if you want to have Korean bbq, it is around 25 euros per person.(meat is expensive in Korea)
